Flower patch up in the hills

These were my first attempts at gardening on soil. I fought with deer and blackberry bushes. I let foxgloves freeseed.

C's Succulent Collection

Back in the day, C used to start his own lithops from seeds mailed from South Africa. Sadly the succulents so plump in past years have withered or have been chicken pecked.

Gang of Blue Jays

One lazy afternoon while foraging through our blackberry patch, I heard a terrible squawking overhead- 3 angry blue jays threatening to swoosh down. Thinking my berry picking to be the culprit I ran inside. The jays were out for the kill - not against a hapless berry picker but against this baby falcon. The interloper had no choice but to flee for now.
